Herman J. Giggee, 99, of Machesney Park passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side on Monday, June 12, 2017. Born on November 8, 1917 in Yankton, SD. Son of Arthur and Emma (Kopp) Giggee. Veteran of the United States Army Air Corp having served in WWII. United in marriage to Montez L. Nelson on February 27, 1946. She predeceased him on June 27, 2003. Life long member of Harlem Methodist Church. Herman was the owner and operator of Giggee Amusements for over 40 years. Herman J. Giggee, 99, of Machesney Park passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side on Monday, June 12, 2017. Born on November 8, 1917 in Yankton, SD. Son of Arthur and Emma (Kopp) Giggee. Veteran of the United States Army Air Corp having served in WWII. United in marriage to Montez L. Nelson on February 27, 1946. She predeceased him on June 27, 2003. Life long member of Harlem Methodist Church. Herman was the owner and operator of Giggee Amusements for over 40 years. After retiring from Giggee Amusements he found enjoyment in gardening tomatoes, watermelons and rhubarb.

Survived by his daughter, Royann Crawford. Predeceased by his parents, loving wife, Tez; son, Leland Giggee; grandson, Leroy Crawford; son-in-law, Lloyd Turnure; brother, Art Giggee.

Funeral Service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Visitation on Tuesday at 4 until 7 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home.
