Dolores Irene (Merriman) Lohmer, 87, of Byron, IL. Our beloved sister passed from this world peacefully at home in the loving arms of her family on September 10, 2017. Born October 14, 1930 in Oberlin, KS. Daughter of Claude and Gladys (Stucks) Merriman. Despite being born into an impoverished family, then affected by Polio at age 7, heart condition and Rheumatic Fever, that did not stop her from becoming a strong, independent woman without any sense of self pity. She refused a handicap parking license even though it was well deserved. She was above all loyal, honest, thoughtful and a loving sister to her siblings. She sacrificed and cared for our mother in her elderly years. Dolores was married to John P. Lohmer on November 23, 1955. She attended Browns Business College and also earned a Certificate of Comptometry from Comptometer School. She was employed by Zarda Dairy for 14 years as a bookkeeper.

Survived by brothers, John E. (Marie-Jeanne) Merriman of Naples, FL, David L. (Louise) Merriman of Welda, KS, Kenneth A. Merriman of Monrovia, NY; sister, JoAnn (Frank) Eaton of Byron, IL; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, John P. Lohmer; mother, Gladys A. Horner; brother, Wayne E.
